The Vocational Training Fund for Retail and Office Workers supports individuals and companies with grants for job-related education. It is easy to apply through Starfsmennt, whether you are seeking individual, company, or joint grants.

Individual Grants
The Vocational Training Fund for Retail and Office Workers provides funding for job-related courses and education, leisure courses, and travel expenses.
Covers 90% of the invoice
Maximum grant: ISK 180,000
Up to 50% travel grant, maximum ISK 50,000
Up to 50% leisure grant, maximum ISK 40,000
Most Icelandic language studies are eligible for funding from SVS
Company Grants
All companies with employees who are members of VR or LÍV can apply for grants from the fund.
Applications are submitted through attin.is
Covers 90% of the invoice
Maximum grant per member: ISK 390,000
Maximum grant per company: ISK 4 million annually
Joint Grants
Individuals and companies can jointly apply for a grant if the employee’s education costs exceed ISK 200,000.
Education must cost at least ISK 200,000
The employee applies and includes a company declaration
The grant amount is deducted from both parties’ entitlements
Combined maximum grant covers 90% of the tuition fee – up to ISK 570,000, or ISK 800,000 if the individual is entitled to accumulation

What is eligible
for funding?
You can apply for grants for a wide range of lifelong learning opportunities. The only requirements are that the education must be open to everyone, have a defined start and end, and follow a pre-determined plan.
Education must cost at least ISK 200,000

Conferences with a structured program that includes job-related presentations
